Claire’s & Icings in the Conestoga Mall are both hiring an Assistant Store Manager.  The primary purpose of Assistant Store Manager is t0 assist in the supervision and management of the store operations while contributing to the store’s performance objectives through sales and service, under the supervision of the Store Manager.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

• Assist in achieving the store’s planned sales goals through the promotion of sales & customer service programs, product knowledge, and company services.
• Open & close store based on company/mall requirements, at times being the only person in the store.
• Contribute to hiring, training, developing, disciplining, supervising, and retaining store associates.
• Assist in motivating staff & creating a positive working environment.
• Assist in implementing Planograms in a timely manner, while understanding the concepts of visual presentations & being able to complete merchandise changes.
• Assist in maintaining operational activities of the store to ensure compliance with company policies & procedures.
• Complete all required paperwork & banking procedures accurately
• Comply with loss prevention practices to safeguard all store & company investments.
• As acting manager on duty, effectively handle emergency situations which develop within the store.
• Maintain store appearance, including stock replenishment, general housekeeping of store, completing opening/closing critiques, and recovering store.
• Properly perform ear-piercing procedures.
• Assist in the management of controllable expenses to meet company guidelines.
• Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

EDUCATION:        High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

EXPERIENCE:      6-12 months of retail management experience.

SKILLS:                   General math & reading.  Good oral & written communications.  Organizational & problem solving skills.

PHYSICAL:             Ability to maneuver up to 25lbs.  Long periods of standing, bending, stooping, and extended reaching while placing merchandise throughout the store &

assisting customers.  Cleaning of store. Ringing of the cash register.
